The task of the Agency of Nuclear and Radiation Safety is to protect people and the environment from the consequences of radiation accidents. The agency is involved in the development, implementation and monitoring of the state policy on nuclear and radiation safety. The agency functions under the Georgian Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.
The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority reports to the Ministry of the Environment and Energy and has mandates from the Swedish Government within the areas of nuclear safety, radiation protection and nuclear non-proliferation.
The Authority works proactively and preventively in order to protect people and the environment from the undesirable effects of radiation, now and in the future.
